From the 28th of october to the 1st of november 2018 the Third General Assembly of the ACT Alliance was held in Uppsala, Sweden. The ACT alliance is an alliance of 150 churches based on faith which are working together in over 125 countries.
The representative of the Lutheran Church of Costa Rica was Mr. Oscar Retana, who is the coordinator of the program “Jurídico Indígena” (indigenous legal support). In this meeting more than 300 persons from all over the world participated.
The assembly resulted in modifications of the statutes to focus the action of the alliance in local forums, the continuity of the work in humanitarian aid under international standards together with the incidence for a fairer planet for all the and the sustainable development.
Mr. Oscar Retana expressed that: "The assembly was undoubtedly an experience of great professional growth and institutional strengthening"
